New Missionary - Elder Adamek Mission Mar. 21, 2016

Hello everyone,

Within the first three months of this mission, I found a scripture in the Doctrine and Covenants that I have worn on the back of my name tag ever since.

"Behold, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great." - D&C 64:33

Since that time, I have become increasingly aware of the Lord's hands in my life and the lives of others. It has been a key influence in my learning and service as a missionary for Jesus Christ.

The names people have seen on my chest are Elder Adamek and Jesus Christ. I am His. I am His missionary. I represent Him. His love, obedience, diligence, hope, and every other good thing He possesses has been increased in myself, by His power and His authority. I have taught His doctrine, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit. This is only the beginning.

Upon the completion of my mission here in just over a day, I will still get to be His missionary and continue to represent Him. I know that I can continue to become more like Him. I know He suffered and died and was resurrected for me so that I can try, fail, try again, fail some more, try again some more, but ultimately succeed through Him.

I know Jesus Christ is the Master Teacher, the Master Healer, the Master Listener. He loves unconditionally. He is the Savior and the Redeemer of all. His life is a perfect example for us all. There is no other person, idea or thing that can save us. He is the only one who can and does.

I am grateful that I was able to share this experience with you all. I know we have a Heavenly Father who loves us and will work miracles in our lives as we sincerely desire and ask Him to.

Love,
Elder Adamek

New Child - Elder Adamek Mission Mar. 14, 2016

Hello everyone,

It has been a special blessing on my mission to listen to children as they pray, speak and act. From the youngest of the young who can barely string together sentences to those nearing and are in adolescence, the Holy Spirit has touched my heart and taught me a lot through these simple, yet amazing children.

We are teaching a girl who is 14 who has much more of a difficult background than I would try to explain or even share over email. However, she knows God loves her. We were able to give her a blessing this past week and it was an honor. I know God loves the children and that He expects us to strive to become more child-like, more humble, more submissive, more loving, and more trusting of Heavenly Father.

I have, in many ways and not through my own strength, been able to become more like a child throughout my mission. I've had to learn the hard way sometimes, but because Heavenly Father is the best parent ever, He is so patient and loving. He is so quick to forgive. He is so perfect. He is everything we need. He really did give us Jesus Christ to show us how to be more like a child. A child of God.

I am a child of God,
And he has sent me here,
Has given me an earthly home
With parents kind and dear.

I am a child of God,
And so my needs are great;
Help me to understand his words
Before it grows too late.

I am a child of God.
Rich blessings are in store;
If I but learn to do his will
I'll live with him once more.

Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,
Help me find the way.
Teach me all that I must do
To live with him someday.

Please have a wonderful week everyone!

Love,
Elder Adamek

New Life - Elder Adamek Mission Mar. 7, 2016

Hello!

This is one of my favorite hymns.

1.       There is a green hill far away,
Without a city wall,
Where the dear Lord was crucified,
Who died to save us all.
2.       We may not know, we cannot tell,
What pains he had to bear,
But we believe it was for us
He hung and suffered there.
3.       There was no other good enough
To pay the price of sin.
He only could unlock the gate
Of heav'n and let us in.
4.       Oh, dearly, dearly has he loved!
And we must love him too,
And trust in his redeeming blood,
And try his works to do.
Though he died, the Savior lives today. I see Him in the people around me. I hear Him in the loving words people speak to each other. I see Him in the kind deeds others work for each other.

I saw Him this week in the people who stood up in testimony meeting and told us how He had changed their lives. I felt Him in the homes of several who are struggling to find Him.

I know that as we try to see Him and His example in the people around us, we will be ready to see Him with our own eyes. Our lives will change. His life and sacrifice will mean something more to us. We will feel a current of love run through our hearts at the most appropriate and needful times during the day. The times when we our feet are pounding the hard pavement with our hearts echoing back a similar reply, we will feel Him. He loves us and I know it.

Love,
Elder Adamek
